With its three campuses, the Main Campus in Trier, the Environmental Campus in Birkenfeld, and the Campus for Design and Art, its approximately 7000 students, 170 professors, and 560 employees, Trier University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) stands for a highly diversified, application-oriented teaching and innovative research and development. As the second largest university of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate and with a total of 85 different Bachelor and Master Degrees that can be obtained, TUAS offers a uniquely broad range of training opportunities in the region and a broad spectrum of national and international research cooperations. TUAS considers itself an internationally oriented university with regional roots. International degree courses and exchange programs with many universities worldwide give TUAS a distinctive international study, teaching, and research profile.
Trier University of Applied Sciences is characterized by high-performance and application-oriented research. Thanks to its innovative strength, Trier University of Applied Sciences has gained and consolidated its position as the university of applied sciences with the most third-party funding in Rhineland-Palatinate, with around 11 million euros in third-party funding per year. It distinguishes itself mainly through the three future-oriented research areas “Applied Material Flow Management”, “Intelligent Technologies for Sustainable Development” and “Life Sciences – Medicine, Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology.” Having a broad range of laboratories, institutes, and competence centers at their disposal, students and professors research interdisciplinarily in national and international networks while focussing on developing sustainable solutions for science, industry, and society. With its various research projects, Trier University of Applied Sciences thus contributes significantly to regional development and innovation processes.
